Appreciating the power of the horse to change lives

HeadWinds was established to benefit all individuals interested in gaining knowledge within the equine field and to learn/improve life skills through Equine Assisted Activities and therapies. Our mission is to provide a safe, educational and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

We are a 501c(3) organization that encompasses horse/animal sanctuary and rescue.
Weekend faith based clinics and conferences, veterans programs and equine assisted therapeutic sessions for special needs clients; victims of child abuse and grief counseling.
We also continue with our children's day camp programs
Our Regular & Adaptive riding programs and services also encompass:
Adaptive Horsemanship: involving equine activities that are organized and taught by our knowledgeable and skilled instructors to people with disabilities or diverse needs.

The Ranch Boss - Kiki Edgerton, TRI, CRI, ESMHL
Kiki has had over 40 years’ experience in the Equine field industry involving both therapeutic riding and equine management /science fields. She studied Equine Management/Science at Merced College, Ca. and Kinesiology at Columbia College, Ca. She holds an Associates of Science Degree in Allied Health. She has held a Certified PATH Int. Therapeutic Horsemanship Instructor and certifications in Equine Specialist, specializing in Equine facilitated therapies in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL). She also gained a Certified Centered Riding Instructor Level1 certification and CPR and as well.
